Job description

As a Senior QA Engineer you will be responsible for defining and executing the test strategy for our products, ensuring that they meet the highest quality standards. You will work closely with our development teams to implement efficient testing practices and prioritize what parts of the product life cycle require specific types of testing. In this role, you will drive automation efforts, improve test planning, and provide structured reporting to ensure smooth and reliable release cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead test strategies based on project requirements and user stories, aligning testing efforts with business goals
  • Collaborate with development teams to define testing standards, identify the necessary technologies, and implement automation where appropriate
  • Ensure adequate test planning, including assessing the sufficiency of requirements and user stories to plan effective tests
  • Prioritize testing efforts, ensuring the team focuses on high-impact areas of the product
  • Lead the automation of tests
  • Drive the adoption of more structured release cycles, especially for outward-facing products
  • Create and maintain comprehensive reports on test results and product quality to support data-driven decision-making
  • Advocate for the necessary resources, tools, and support required to achieve high-quality testing outcomes
  • Communicate effectively across teams, ensuring alignment and buy-in from stakeholders regarding testing priorities and strategies

Requirements

  • Strong background in test automation
  • Proficiency in testing tools and frameworks
  • Experience in technical writing and documentation to clearly convey testing strategies, plans, and reports
  • Hands-on experience with Java and JavaScript technologies
  • Proven experience in test planning, ensuring that requirements are met to execute meaningful tests
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently advocate for QA needs and ensure alignment with development teams and other stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize testing efforts based on business impact and urgency
  • Experience defining testing standards and best practices within an organization
  • Familiarity with structured release cycles and continuous integration practices
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or relevant field
  • Experience with load testing tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of performance testing, security testing, and end-to-end test coverage
  • Experience working in agile or scrum environments
